Weekly Photo Challenge : Delicate

020

This is the truly beautiful ceiling of The Chapter House in York Minster.  I really wanted to lie on the floor looking up at it – and I am sure I would have obtained a better photograph but was put off doing that by all the people milling around!  The Minster itself is medieval and I suspect The Chapter House is the same period.

I lived in York when I was four years old and in fact started school there – one of my classmates and friends was Dame Judi Dench;  we didn`t keep in touch when I moved and I would not, of course, presume upon her now but I have happy memories of playing with her in the attic of her parents` house!

  1. Beautiful ceiling (I need that for my living room, lol)! And it’s so pleasant to reminisce back on childhood memories and old friends — it gives one a sense of having roots I suppose.

      1. Aw, you’re such a sweetie, Anne, and I appreciate the nomination! I don’t know how to do these, so I don’t know if I can act on it, but it really warms my heart that you thought of me, and I will try to see what I can find out about this–thanks so much!
